Oh Mack. .~*

A good friend of mine called me last night. .
"Yo L!! You've got to hear lil dude from the Wire's album". .
Of course I was like "Who? What?" (mind you I am sick too. .Glory. .LoL!!)
"It's FIRE!! GO to iTunes and cop it stat!!"
The way I was feeling at that moment. .was "Child BYE!!"LoL!!

However I am a sucker for GREAT music. He text the name and album title. .Low and behold. .

It was the debut LP from the oh so Handsome Tristan Wilds aka Mack Wilds!! I have been a fan of the young actor since his days on "The Wire". .90210. .and of course "Red Tails" (Yes Lawd!! That was an outstanding and HANDSOME cast) so I honestly didn't know what to expect from him pursuing music. I remembered seeing the "Own IT" video this summer. .but didn't think to much about it.

Over the past few months there has been a buzz about Tristan taking a break from acting to pursue a career in music.  We hear this A LOT from actors, athletes , etc and sometimes they just don't deliver.  (Sad but true) With Mack Wilds. .that is not the case!!

I purchased the album and immediately began to listen. .and I was SHOCKED!! Now I am the type of person that I don't start with the first track on the album, I listen to the first title that jumps out at me. .and that was "Art of Fallin'". People giving their opinion on what "fallin"/"love" is put against an almost old school track (reminisce of a Slick Rick beat).  I then listened to "Keepin It Real", "A NY Love Story" (I love to rock my french manicure!! Signature mani for a SophistiKat), "Wild Things" feat Method Man, "U Can Cry to Me" feat Raekwon and Dougie Fresh (It doesn't get any more NY than that). . then. .Child. .Glory. .I listened to "Don't Turn Me Down" and BayBAE it was a wrap!! I melted straight out of my bed!!  (I also found the video to this track. .and I must say. .Mack is a MAN!!)

This brother has delivered!! So many people are truly blessed to multi talented and Mack is one of those people. I was a fan before but I am sold on the music now too!! Please don't sleep on this album and purchase it today. I promise you won't regret it!!

Purchase via iTunes:

Check out his brief documentary "New York: A Love Story" and get a glimpse at who Tristan "Mack" Wilds is. .(I seriously was wondering where "Mack" came from. .)

Enjoy~*

Flyy Girl

I'm sure you saw the title of the post and thought I was going to start talking about myself. .LoL!! Sorry!! Anywhoo. .over the weekend I heard some of the BEST news a book-lover could ever hear. .That one of your FAVorite characters will be coming to the big screen. Picked up by "Codeblack Films" a subsidiary of Lionsgate they will bring to life one of the most known urban book characters "Tracy Ellison" of Omar Tyree's book trilogy that all started with "Flyy Girl". I have been reading Omar Tyree's books since I was 17 and he is honestly one of my FAVorite authors. A little on Mr. Tyree. . (Woo. .Isn't he Handsome!!) A child of the 70's Tyree was born and raised in Philadelphia (he let it be known that he is a "100% Philadelphian) with a strong stepfather who was a role model and a disciplinary that gave him the freedom to explore and put him in line anytime he strayed. Tyree became a fan of classic fil...
