Spring is officially here!! After the frigid temperatures,
snow, and ice we are finally on the horizon of warm weather and sunshine. The
Pantone Color Institute has released their “Color Report” for Spring 2015. The color trend for this season has
returned to a more traditional palette. Each features warm tones of beige and
Marsala (which is the 2015 color) and cooler tones of teal and citrus
orange. Leatrice Eiseman,
Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute stated, “There is a growing
movement to step out and create “quiet zones” to disconnect from technology and
unwind. Color hues choices follow the same minimalistic, ‘en plein air’ theme,
taking a cue from nature rather than being reinvented or mechanically
manipulated.” This month I decided to feature my Top 5 hottest trends for
Spring 2015 under $100.
1. The Statement Skirt
Normally when we hear the word “statement” in fashion, we
automatically assume it is in reference to an accessory, which would be a
scarf, necklace, or earrings. This season the statement is made with an
intricate piece of your wardrobe, the skirt. Michelle Obama over the past year
has made the return of the A-Line dress and skirt epic. It can be seen on
everyone from Kerry Washington to young starlette Zendaya Coleman. You can find
skirts now in more patterns, textures, and colors than ever before. It is
definitely the pop that will make you stand out. Paired with a neutral shade
blouse, shoe, and the right accessories you can easily make head turns from the
office to cocktail hour.
